On Camera Commercial Acting w/ Sam Parker

Weeks 1 and 2 (7/9 and 7/16). Slates and Copy- We'll begin these sessions by practicing slates and answering 'personality' questions. Afterwards, we'll study standard commercial copy. We'll work on finding and playing commercial beats, as well as connecting to the camera.

Weeks 3 and 4 (7/23 and 7/30). Commercial Improv and Buttons - We'll use these sessions to discuss and practice improv in a commercial setting. Each lesson will begin with an improv warm-up/game. Afterwards, students will learn how to apply improv to commercial auditions through 'buttons.' We'll work on two styles of buttons, verbal and non-verbal. 

Weeks 5 and 6 (8/6 and 8/13). Take Variation- These lessons will teach students how to approach auditions that request "multiple takes." Students will learn to analyze commercial breakdowns and craft 2-3 unique performances through a variety of techniques including 'personalization' and 'dynamics.'
