Sam Parker is a New York City-based actor, educator, and improviser. He has extensive experience in coaching and acting with young artists of all ages. He holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Otterbein University (Westerville, OH). He completed an Internship with Tara Rubin Casting, where he was part of the team that cast the hit Broadway musical, “School of Rock.” He has lead numerous school-based acting workshops throughout New York City for The Shubert Foundation and served as an acting coach for iTheatrics at the Junior Theater Festival.
Sam’s teaching style blends time-honored acting techniques with an emphasis on student empowerment. Sam encourages his actors to connect personally to their characters, enabling them to make individual choices that are grounded in reality. Sam’s method has led to great success for many of his young actors. Over the past year, Sam’s students booked roles in national tours, feature films, and commercials. Sam is also proud to be a mentor to actors looking to break into the performance industry. He had several students sign with representation in 2022.
Sam prides himself on his preparedness, patience, professionalism, and positivity. He is excited to instill these same qualities into a new generation of aspiring actors.
It is impossible to put into words how much we respect and appreciate our acting coach, Sam Parker. Sam is dedicated, caring, hardworking, and responsive. He is clearly thoughtful in his approach to coaching and is able to bring the very best out of Blake. Sam has spent time researching monologues and scenes to highlight her abilities, and then artfully worked with her to bring the best of her talents to light. Since working with Sam, we have received numerous professional call backs, audition requests, and roles in Community Theater. Most recently Blake landed the lead in her school play and Sam was coaching, supporting, and encouraging her every step of the way. We feel very fortunate to work with such an incredible actor, coach, and overall person. We greatly look forward to a long professional relationship with Sam and The Prep.

My son has recently joined The Prep as a private student of Sam Parker. Sam has been a wonderful source of guidance and instruction. Almost every time my son finishes a lesson with Sam, he comes running down the stairs to tell me how well it went and how good he did. The pure joy I see in my son's face knowing he has finally found something he loves and someone who shares that passion is priceless.

Sam Parker has been an invaluable teacher and mentor to our daughter. Sam is extremely engaging, insightful and knowledgable. In the short time he has been teaching our daughter she has grown as an actress beyond measure. Whether it be preparation for an audtion or callback, or working on her general acting skills, our daughter cannot wait for each lesson with Sam. Additionally, he follows up after a lesson expressing strengths and given excellent feedback on areas that can be improved upon to get the most out of each lesson he provides. It has been our absolute pleasure to welcome Sam into our home (virtually) to help our daughter grow into the actress she hopes to be.

Sam is Zaynn's first VO instructor and we couldn't have asked for anyone other than him. Sam is very kind, professional and friendly. Zaynn loves working with Sam and I am amazed by the fact how well Zaynn takes his direction, as Sam is very good at working with kids. Every class has been a learning experience so far without any fear of judgement. We love Sam and will continue to work with him. He is a blessing.
